Joyeux anniversaire, Bruce Boudreau !

« I was born on January 9, 1955 in Toronto. Everytime my dad asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I said a hockey player. It never varied. I never wanted to work for the fire departement or to be a policeman, any of the jobs that kids like.
Norman Boudreau, my father, was only five foot two. He was born in Montreal and grew up a Canadiens fan. His office was right accross the street from Maple Leaf Garden. He was a very loyal guy who worked for Dun & Bradstreet for thirty five years.
My mother, Theresa, was a bank teller for thirty-something years. We lived with my grandparents, Herb and Mary Boudreau.
My dad’s parents were killed in a car crash and Herb and Mary Boudreauadopted him, though I wouldn’t know that until I was twenty. They moved from Montreal to Bathurst in New Brunswick, and then my dad moved to Toronto in 1952 to find work. My mom who was from Bathurst, just followed, and they ended up getting married.
I don’t speak french. I’m sketchy on why. We’re not sure how old my father was when his biological parents died. We can’t find any records of their names or anything. We think they were English from England, but we’re not positive.
My dad spoke broken french. My mom is French and grew up speaking an Acadian dialect. Her maiden name was Roy, like Patrick Roy, the hall-of-fame goalie. »
